The park contains 250 acres of gardens, open fields, woodlands, ponds, picnic areas, sports facilities, and other attractions.

Tree Tour
Join us for an introduction to the Park's diverse tree collection Walk through the Oriental and Lotus Gardens to see and learn about over 40 varieties of trees, from a giant white oak (Quercus alba, the state tree of Connecticut) to a dwarf mugo pine (Pinus mugo, from alpine Europe), as well as one of the park's newest trees, a Causasian wingnut (Pterocarya fraxinifolia - we'll sort out that Latin name!).
If the weather cooperates, the Japanese snowbell (Styrax japonicus) and native fringetrees (Chionanthus virginicus) should be in full bloom. Come to enjoy an easy stroll and learn about the trees' names, where they grow wild, their uses and folklore.

In our 25 acres of themed gardens you will encounter a variety of plant materials, design styles, structures and statuary.
Choose from gardens that feature ponds, fountains, unique gazebos, and our famous Moon Bridge.

Gardens inspired by England, Italy, and the Orient are among the eight ornamental enclaves amid these 250 green acres. The playground and nature center attract youngsters, while the picnic tables and grills offer the perfect pit stops for any age. Plus aviary, bird sanctuary, tennis and volleyball courts, software diamonds, hiking and biking trails, and 18-hole disc-golf course.
